LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF...

I am a natural light on-location photographer specializing in Portrait photography. I approach every session with empathy for this season in your life and an editorial eye to focus on the little details that make each person or life event unique. I want to capture the pure, organic side of you as well as find those heartwarming moments that will be shared for generations to come.

I love Jesus, coffee, books, yummy food, and thrifting!  My husband, Nick, would say I also have an unhealthy plant addiction, but I haven't killed any lately, so he's starting to change his mind about that. Overall, I am a simple gal. My other hobbies include exploring new recipes with my husband, spending quality time with my family, and snuggling with our two Golden Retrievers, Calvin and Hobbes.

Thank you for visiting my site, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you soon!

fun facts about me

1. I will do just about anything to get the shot. I'm only 5'3" so I frequently find myself crawling on the ground or teetering on my tiptoes... if there is a will - there is a way!

2. I LOVE a good theme. There is no idea too crazy or out of reach. Let's have some fun!

3. I am extremely organized and over-prepared for everything. Type A all the way. I find joy in organizing. My stuff, your stuff, their stuff... Also a first class over-communicator. But you probably already know that.

BEHIND THE SCENES...

A few pictures and videos that have been captured by clients from the other side of the camera. It's not always pretty, but I get the job done!

Client Testimonial

Somehow I am supposed to find the words to describe my family's experience with Lisa Hines Photography. As a writer, you would think this would be easy. As an overprotective parent, and self-conscious woman, this has been one of the hardest recommendations I have ever tried to write.  I would love to find just one word to describe our experience, but so many come to mind: ease, comfort, fun, exciting, entertaining, organized, planned, prepared, and the list could go on and on.

Having known Lisa for a long time, I already know the kind of person that she is. Her kindness, desire to make others feel welcome, and her complete support of those around her barely  scratch the surface of who she is as a person. And then, for the first time in our 20+ year friendship, I got to experience her photography first-hand and I am completely blown away.

Our daughter wanted her senior pictures to be taken at the beach. Lisa wanted all the details, including address of the hotel everyone would be staying in. It wasn't until the day before we were meeting that I found out why. Lisa scouted the entire area around the hotel using Google Maps to find the PERFECT spots at the hotel, around the beach, and along some hidden paths to take some pictures. She even did this with the specific areas our daughter mentioned are her favorites to visit. I've heard her tell stories of doing this for her clients, and then to experience it--she had a vision, she understood my daughter's vision, and Lisa took those small details and planned a well thought-out, timed and absolutely stunning photo shoot.

As a self-conscious person, the last thing I want...ever...is to see myself in pictures. I explained this, in detail, to Lisa and she said such a simple thing..."can you trust me to help you see what everyone else sees?" Y'all. I trusted her. During the most perfect sunset I have ever seen, Lisa gave us all specific pointers on how to stand. Once I saw the picture, I understood why. I could look at the picture. I could share this picture. It is the best I have felt or thought I have seen of myself in a picture in YEARS.

Lisa asked so many questions, but it felt like normal conversation. Things like "do you have a preference for this..." "do you mind if I try..." She was extremely thoughtful, aware of our surroundings at all times, and very well tuned to the things my daughter was and wasn't wanting--like keeping her glasses on for all pictures. Lisa did not hesitate to work her magic with the sunset and sunrise to keep the glare at bay.

This was by far the best experience we have ever had with a photographer. My only regret is taking so long to work with Lisa professionally. I cannot thank her, and her family, enough for making our daughter's senior dream come true.

I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone and everyone.
