FAQ'S
What should I wear?
I recommend that clothing be kept simple while avoiding logos or busy patterns. Layers and different textures are also good options. If possible, try to avoid a lot of white clothing as it distracts from the subjects. In group photos, some color coordination is recommended. If you need suggestions for beautiful color combinations based on the season, just let me know! I'd be happy to send you some examples. to consider. A few outfit changes are recommended for engagement sessions, seniors, or small children sessions.

How long does the photo shoot session last?
Headshots are 30 minutes. Senior and Family photo sessions are usually 1 hour. Bridal and Engagement shoots are 1.5 hours to allow for clothing and location changes. Weddings range from 2 - 8 hours.

Why are other photographers charging less for their sessions?
My pricing structure looks slightly different from other photographers because my rate is all-inclusive, so you get more for your money! Most photographers charge a standard session or "sitting" fee, and then you pay for access to the digital photos and a few prints of those selected photos separately, in an a la carte fashion. This can get expensive very quickly, and you only get the few photos you select from your session. I give you the session time, all the hand-edited digital photos, and a private website to share them from for one flat fee. You will only pay additional with me for add-ons that you specifically request (extra time, albums, canvas prints, etc.) and professional prints if you order them through your album site, which is not required. You can download and print from any site you choose!

How do we book you?
When you are ready to book a session, you can reach out via the contact page. Please be sure to indicate if you have a specific timeframe in mind and which type of session you are looking for. I will respond via email within 24 hours to let you know what dates are currently available for you to choose from. Once you’ve chosen which date and time work best for you, I will officially add your date to my calendar and reach out with more details pertaining to your specific session. For wedding photography, please send me your wedding date & venue location, and I will send you the contract and questionnaire to start planning your session.

When will I receive my photos?
Approximately 2 weeks after your session (weddings usually take about 4 weeks max, depending on the time of year). Pictures will be professionally edited and color-corrected (if needed); a few will be offered in black and white, all in high resolution. I will usually post a sneak peek photo of the session on my website and Facebook page within a few days of your session, with more to follow once editing is completed.
How do I receive my photos?
When your photos are completed, you will receive an email with a link to a private gallery to view, share, and download your session images.

Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?
I am a natural light photographer who loves shooting outdoor sessions whenever possible, but I am open to shooting just about anywhere! If you have a desired location in mind, just let me know. If you need ideas, I would be happy to suggest locations that suit your desired session style. I don't have a studio, but I am happy to come to you and shoot sessions in your home or any indoor location open to the public if you prefer. Wedding receptions would be lit with external flashes when necessary. Please note, some locations charge additional fees for photography so those charges would be added to your session price.

Does my session have to be at sunset to have good light?
Absolutely not! Although I love the evening glow and the softer light it brings, it is not a requirement to obtain amazing photos from your session. However, there are some locations that work better at specific times of the day. Because of this, I make every attempt to communicate these options to you in advance to accommodate your schedule when planning your photo session. I’ve become accustomed to working under any lighting condition to give you the best photos. Sometimes, we just have to get a little creative!

What if I need to reschedule?
I always try to build in a "rain date" when planning your session to accommodate for weather and emergencies. In other circumstances, I ask that requests be made at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule your session.

How much are you able to retouch your images?
I have a very natural, non-evasive approach to editing. I always do minor touch-ups of blemishes or scars - most of which you won't even notice - but you will always look like yourself. If you would prefer additional editing (i.e., minimizing wrinkles, minor slimming, etc.), an additional fee is added due to the added editing time.

Do I need to pay a deposit and sign a contract?
I require a $100 retainer for all portrait sessions to reserve the date. For Bridal and Wedding sessions, I require both a signed contract and a 25% retainer. Once you've requested your desired date, I will email the contract and a questionnaire for you to complete and return with your retainer within 15 days.

When is my balance due?
Your balance (or remaining balance) is due at the time of service or the day of your session. Cash or check is preferred. Venmo is accepted for smaller sessions. I prefer to have wedding balances paid before the wedding date so that it’s not misplaced or forgotten with all the stress of the big day. However, if you are most comfortable taking care of that the day of, please do so upon my arrival at the venue.

You took so many pictures. Do I get them all?
I take a ton of pictures when I’m shooting. This ensures I always get that perfect shot in each setting and avoid additional editing time due to blinking, weird hair from wind gusts, random people in the background, etc. I don't give every image I take simply because many of them are duplicates. Instead, I choose only the best images to edit and deliver to you. Portrait sessions usually yield 40-60 images, and weddings average 100 pictures per hour that I’m there. I promise you will have more photos than you know what to do with!

Where can I print my photos?
There is an option to send photos to print directly from your gallery for your convenience. If you order from the gallery, you will receive beautiful professional quality photos from the printers I use, WHCC Photo Lab and BayPhoto. They have a ton of options for print sizes and formats available, as well as specialty items such as canvases, albums, and art prints. If you prefer to print independently, I highly recommend using an online printer such as Printique or Nations Photo Lab to ensure you get excellent print quality.

I love shooting photography and have covered a multitude of events and subjects that are not listed in my portfolio due to size constraints. So, if you have an occasion in mind that you don't see listed or would just generally like more information about my services, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would love to hear from you.
